How We Finally Made a BABY!

This week we have finally over come a huge obstacle in our marriage...infertility! We have been trying to conceive for almost 4 years and we have tried everything. We ended up going to an infertility center for about a year...we did timed conception and Interuteral Insemination (IUI). All our efforts and infertility meds couldn't get me pregnant. Our next step was Invitro Fertalization so off to the IVF clinic. We signed up in March and when April rolled around we were ready to start. I was taking shots twice a day and a hand full of pills every morning. I was a crazy hormal person with no filter for my mouth or a way to keep my blood pressure down. It was absoultly crazy! They did the retrieval on April 23. They were able to get 21 folliculs and only 17 were able to be fertalized...out of that 13 made it over the next couple of days. Finally 5 days later they choose the 2 embryos that were the "best" to transfer back in. The next step was the hardest...the 2 week wait! Waiting for May 6th and 8th to roll around so we could get blood tests done to see if I had actually gotten pregnant and that the money, time and energy actually paid off. May 6th we got NO phone call about the results...stressed out I called the next day and had a complete and total melt down. Two hours later my doctor called me with the AMAZING NEWS. He said I was PREGNANT! Wow...crazy huh? So now I am taking pregnancy tests everyday because I can finally get a stupid positive line to show up and I am waiting until May 22 for our ultra sound to find out whether we are having 1 baby or 2! It's the most exciting and surreal week of my life!
